Learn how to derive and characterize human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from somatic cells through live virtual training.

Overview

Learn how to derive and characterize human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from somatic cells through live-streamed training delivered by experts from STEMCELL Technologies. The two-day, part-time course consists of interactive lectures and laboratory demonstrations. You will learn essential techniques to generate iPS cells from human fibroblasts using a non-integrating, self-replicating RNA reprogramming vector and fundamental strategies to expand and characterize newly derived iPS cells to bank for experiments.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Know the process to reprogram somatic cells to induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells.
  • Understand the key advantages, disadvantages, and critical elements of different approaches to somatic cell reprogramming.
  • Assess and identify undifferentiated, fully reprogrammed iPS cells compared to partially reprogrammed iPS cell colonies.
  • Understand and apply the best practical skills to derive and pick iPS cells.
  • Understand the workflow for maintaining iPS cells.
  • Know the tools and strategies for characterizing iPS cells.

As part of the course, you will receive:

  • An electronic copy of the course book
  • Certificates of course completion from STEMCELL Technologies and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), UK
  • Post-training support from the trainers and STEMCELL’s Scientific Support team

Space is limited, please apply early for the best chance of securing a seat for your desired date. Registration closes one week before the course date.
