The CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing system enables high-efficiency genome editing to generate functional gene-edited cells. Bring this system and its best practices to your lab by registering for this three-day course consisting of live-streamed, interactive lectures and laboratory demonstrations. Guided by STEMCELL Technologies’ in-house pluripotent stem cell experts, you will gain the skills to successfully derive and maintain CRISPR-Cas9 genome-edited human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs).
Learning Outcomes:
Describe the evolution of genome editing techniques and hPSC culture
Know the advantages and mechanism of CRISPR-Cas9
Understand the potential and challenges associated with CRISPR-Cas9 in hPSCs
Be familiar with a typical hPSC genome editing workflow (knock out and insertion of point mutations by knock-in using an ssODN template)
Derivation of clonal lines
Distinguish CRISPR-Cas9 guide RNA (gRNA) formats
Understand and apply the principles of gRNA design to design a gRNA sequence and knock-in DNA donor template for point mutations
Identify contributing factors to off-target effects of CRISPR-Cas9
Understand considerations for knockout and knock-in experiments
Discern the benefits and drawbacks of different methods of determining genome editing efficiencies to identify the most suitable method for your research objectives/applications
Understand the basics of hPSC cell quality and considerations for hPSC research
As part of the course, you will receive:
An electronic copy of the course book
Certificate of course completion from STEMCELL Technologies
Post-training support from the trainers and STEMCELL’s Scientific Support team
Space is limited, please apply early for the best chance of securing a seat for your desired date. Registration closes one week before the course date.
