GI Tract Organoids: Using Advanced Tissue Models to Interrogate Absorption and Regulation
GI Tract Organoids: Using Advanced Tissue Models to Interrogate Absorption and Regulation
Organoids are transforming the research of health and disease by enabling scientists to answer new research questions. In this presentation, Dr. Heather McCauley, postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. James Wells, discusses her work studying nutrient absorption using hPSC-derived intestinal organoids. By using organoids to model intestinal tissues, Dr. McCauley is able to recapitulate the intestinal epithelium in vitro, providing a faithful model of intestinal deficiencies observed in vivo.
