Overview

Proteinase K is a serine protease that exhibits broad cleavage activity, cutting peptide bonds adjacent to the carboxylic group in aliphatic and aromatic amino acids. Proteinase K is used for a variety of applications, including removal of nucleases from DNA and RNA samples and terminating enzymatic reactions. Proteinase K Solution is in a ready-to-use format that is stable at room temperature and active over a pH range of 4.3 - 12.0 in 0.5% SDS or 1% Triton® X-100. Product is free of nuclease activity.
