STEMvision™ is an instrument designed specifically for imaging and scoring colonies in the hematopoietic colony-forming cell (CFC) assay using MethoCult™ media and meniscus-reducing SmartDish™ cultureware. STEMvision™ replaces the need to manually identify and score colonies using a microscope.
 
Users simply load a SmartDish™ into the STEMvision™ instrument, acquire a composite image of the whole culture and, using sophisticated colony analysis software, automatically evaluate and score the hematopoietic colonies present in the culture. The results can be reviewed visually and exported to databases for reporting and archiving purposes.  
 
Individual culture wells can be analyzed immediately, which takes about 30 seconds for image acquisition and 3 minutes for automatic analysis and scoring. It is also possible to image a series of cultures sequentially, and perform batch-wise analysis of all images at a later time (e.g. overnight).
