Overview

Hydrolize hyaluronic acids in connective tissue with Hyaluronidase. Frequently used with other proteases, such as collagenase, this polysaccharidase cleaves endo-N-acetlyhexosaminic bonds in hyaluronic acid, as well as chondroitin sulfate A and C, to tetrasaccharide residues. Hyaluronidase consists of a single polypeptide chain of 450 amino acid residues with four disulfide bonds and is glycosylated, containing 5% mannose and 2.17% glucosamine (Borders & Raftery).
