Applications of Our Matrices and Substrates

Cells in the human body are accustomed to the presence of neighboring cells, membranes, fibrous layers and adhesion proteins. This complex three-dimensional environment cannot be replicated by culturing cells in a flat, plastic flask, which results in an artificial two-dimensional layer of cells. STEMCELL Technologies’ extracellular matrices and proteins are able to host a more physiologically relevant environment allowing the progression of cell development and growth.

Vitronectin

Recommended Uses:

Cell attachment and spreading

Collagen

Recommended Uses:

Cell attachment, orientation, migration and ECM studies

Features/Advantages:

  • CellAdhere™ Type I Collagen, Bovine: use as a 3D gel
  • CellAdhere™ Type IV Collagen, Human: compatible with epithelial, endothelial, muscle and nerve cells
  • Available in multiple formats: solution, lyophilized powder and aligned-braided or aligned-crimped slides

Fibronectin

Recommended Uses:

Cell adhesion, growth, migration and wound healing

  • Improves yield of neural cells during the final stages of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC) in vitro differentiation into neural cell types
