Overview

Ensure standardized freezing—without the use of alcohol—for most cell types with Corning® CoolCell® LX, Cell Freezing Container. This container achieves consistent freezing profiles by combining a solid state core, radial vial symmetry, and uniform-density, cross-linked polyethylene foam. The polyethylene foam is non-absorbent, imposing negligible change to the freezer environment and protecting nearby samples. Use Corning® CoolCell® LX in a -80°C freezer to achieve reproducible freezing at the rate of -1°C/minute, which is ideal for the cryopreservation of most cells and cell lines. Each freezing container can hold 12 standard 1 - 2 mL cryogenic vials.
