Overview

Isolate or deplete CD11b+ cells from human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) or leukapheresis samples with the EasySep™ Human CD11b Positive Selection and Depletion Kit. The CD11b+ cells are labeled with antibodies and magnetic particles and separated using an EasySep™ magnet without the use of columns. Labeled cells remain in the tube while unlabeled cells are poured off. The desired cells are immediately available for downstream applications such as flow cytometry, culture, or DNA/RNA extraction.

CD11b is a commonly used myeloid cell marker and expressed on the cell surface of leukocytes including monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, and natural killer (NK) cells.

Starting with human PBMCs, the CD11b+ cell content of the isolated fraction is typically 98.6 ± 1.4% after positive selection and 1.7 ± 1.2% after depletion (mean ± SD using the EasySep™ magnet). In the above example, the frequencies of CD11b+ cells in the start, final isolated, and final depleted fractions are 47.8%, 99.4%, and 1.6%, respectively.
