Overview

The STEMdiff™ Dopaminergic Neuron Maturation Kit is used in conjunction with the STEMdiff™ Dopaminergic Neuron Differentiation Kit (Catalog #08520) to generate dopaminergic neurons from neural progenitor cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells using the STEMdiff™ Neural Induction Medium (Catalog #05835) embryoid body protocol. The mature cell population generated contains midbrain dopaminergic neurons (15 - 30% TH-positive dopaminergic neurons; >90% class III β-tubulin-positive neurons; <10% GFAP-positive astrocytes) and can be maintained long-term in culture. Cells derived using these products are versatile tools for modeling human neurological development and disease, drug screening, toxicity testing, and cell therapy validation.

Neural Progenitor Cells derived from iPS cells (STiPS-M001 cell line) using the STEMdiff™ Neural Induction Medium embryoid body protocol were differentiated and matured to dopaminergic neurons by culture in STEMdiff™ Dopaminergic Neuron Differentiation Kit for 13 days and STEMdiff™ Dopaminergic Neuron Maturation Kit for 13 days. The dopaminergic neurons express the neuronal marker class III β-tubulin (red) and the dopaminergic neuronal marker tyrosine hydroxylase (TH, green).
