Type 1 Diabetes Research
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is characterized by the autoimmune-mediated destruction of pancreatic beta (β) cells, leading to the loss of insulin production and dysregulated glucose homeostasis. Researchers studying the disease use STEMCELL products to drive differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) into pancreatic progenitors and insulin-producing cells, as well as to study autoimmune mechanisms underlying T1D disease progression.
