Product Advantages

  • Get large numbers of diseased cells at a given time point from a single-donor

  • Obtain PBMCs and a range of immune cell subsets from a single leukopak

  • Allow for flexibility in your workflow by being able to freeze cells for future experiments

Overview

Start your autoimmune disease research confidently with a reliable supply of ethically sourced, peripheral blood (PB) products from donors diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RA is an autoimmune inflammatory disorder that causes painful swelling in and around the lining of joints, and damages blood systems throughout the body. Cells from donors with RA can be used as an epithelial cell model to study key mechanisms in the pathogenesis of the disorder. Product options include half or full fresh leukopaks and frozen mononuclear cells (MNCs or PBMCs). We help you get the cells you need with personalized service and flexible delivery times.

Leukopaks are an enriched leukapheresis product consisting of a large number of single-donor MNCs. Each full-sized leukopak is produced from ~2 - 3x blood volumes using the Spectra Optia® Apheresis System, with acid-citrate-dextrose solution A (ACDA) as the anticoagulant. Primary human MNCs are isolated from peripheral blood, leukapheresis, or whole blood samples using density gradient separation or red blood cell lysis and cryopreserved in animal component-free CryoStor®CS10 medium (Catalog #07930). AllPB products are obtained from donors diagnosed with RA using Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved consent forms and protocols. Additional documentation and high-resolution HLA typing (Class I and Class II alleles) may be available upon request. Donor specifications (e.g. BMI category, age, ethnicity, etc.) can be requested in the comment box above, after selecting from the product options. Donors are screened for HIV-1, HIV-2, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.
