Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Research

Induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells are a type of pluripotent stem cell (PSC) that can be obtained by reprogramming somatic cells through artificial expression of key transcription factors under specific culture conditions.1-2 See More Variables that affect reprogramming include the delivery method, culture conditions and starting cell type. The choice of starting cell type is influenced by factors such as availability of donor tissue, invasiveness of sample collection procedures, genomic integrity, epigenetic memory and reprogramming efficiency.
