Neural progenitor cell (NPC) expansion after neural induction generates a larger pool of cells for downstream applications. See MoreWhen conducting replicate or follow-up experiments, researchers can return to NPCs generated from the original neural induction procedure, removing a significant source of variability. STEMdiff™ Neural Progenitor Medium is optimized for the expansion of NPCs generated using STEMdiff™ SMADi Neural Induction Kit or STEMdiff™ Neural Induction Medium. While preserving multipotency, STEMdiff™ Neural Progenitor Medium minimizes spontaneous neuronal differentiation. NPCs can be frozen at any point following neural induction with reproducibly high recovery rates using STEMdiff™ Neural Progenitor Freezing Medium. Post-thaw, NPCs display healthy morphology, express NPC markers, and retain the potential to expand and differentiate into neurons and glia.
It is also possible to moderately expand neural crest cells (NCCs) after neural crest induction. For hard-to-differentiate patient lines, use EasySep™ Release Human PSC-Derived Neural Crest Positive Selection Kit to purify populations resulting from STEMdiff™ Neural Crest Differentiation Kit. Cells can be passaged up to three times in STEMdiff™ Neural Crest Differentiation Kit and cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS10 for banking or expansion upstream of differentiation to neurons or glia of the peripheral nervous system. For downstream differentiation to mesenchymal cell types such as chondrocytes, adipocytes, or osteogenic cells, NCCs can be expanded for up to three passages in MesenCult™-ACF Plus Medium.
