CD is an autoimmune condition that occurs in genetically predisposed individuals where gluten ingestion causes damages in the small intestine. Leukopaks are an enriched leukapheresis product consisting of a large number of single-donor MNCs, collected using the Spectra Optia® Apheresis System, with acid-citrate-dextrose solution A (ACDA) as the anticoagulant. Primary human MNCs are isolated from PB leukapheresis samples using density gradient separation or red blood cell lysis and cryopreserved in animal component-free CryoStor®CS10 medium (Catalog #07930). All PB products are obtained from donors diagnosed with CD, confirmed by the collection facility Medical Director, using Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved consent forms and protocols. Additional documentation, donor disease and treatment information, and high-resolution HLA typing (Class I and Class II alleles) may be available upon request. Donors are screened for HIV-1, HIV-2, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.
