Enter this year’s #StemCellfie contest and show the world what you see down the microscope!
From now until April 20, submit your best cell image for a chance to win one of several #StemCellfie prize packages.
Following a vote by STEMCELL staff, you will have the chance to browse the top 60 "cellfies" and vote for your favorite. Public voting will begin on May 1, 2023.
When the public voting ends on May 7, the winners from three categories will receive the following prizes:
- STEMCELL Employees Top-Voted Image: #StemCellfie Prize Package including a STEMCELL-branded lab coat and umbrella
- Public Vote Grand Prize: #StemCellfie Prize Package including a STEMCELL-branded lab coat and a magnetic puzzle of your image
- Top 20: A 24-piece magnetic puzzle of your image and other STEMCELL-branded gifts
- #StemCellfie Newcomers Random Prize Draw: A STEMCELL-branded poster tube
Image Submission Requirements:
- Your image should be rectangular if possible, although it may be cropped square for display during voting
- The minimum accepted image height is 2500px and the minimum width is 2500px
- Include only the cell image within the frame (no legends, titles, scale bars, or other text)
- Only one image per submitter will be displayed, so please submit only your favorite image
Contest Guidelines
Submissions
By submitting, participants consent to their image being used by STEMCELL Technologies in promotional content related to the #StemCellfie Contest. Submissions of human- or animal-derived cells will be accepted. Submissions must not contain any scale bars, legends, titles, or other text. Submissions may be disqualified from the contest for other reasons, including, but not limited to, for being of low resolution, non-human or -animal cell type, or other. Submissions from previous #StemCellfie contests will not be accepted. STEMCELL reserves the right to disqualify submissions from parties with a conflict of interest with STEMCELL Technologies. You must own the rights to your image. Submissions will be shortlisted for public voting via an internal STEMCELL staff voting period the week before the public vote begins. Newcomers to the #StemCellfie contest can check the “#StemCellfie Newcomer” box on the entry form for entry into a random prize draw; contestants that have entered the #StemCellfie contest in the previous 5 years will not be entered into the #StemCellfie Newcomers Random Prize Draw. Only one prize per contestant; contestants cannot win prizes in multiple categories.
Deadline for entry
Submit your image by April 20, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
Voting
Public voting will be open from May 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. PDT until May 7, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. We reserve the right to disqualify and/or remove votes from entries with suspicious voting behavior, including bot-like activity.
Winner announcement
Public Vote Grand Prize, Top 20, STEMCELL Employees Top-Voted, and Newcomer Random Prize Draw winners will be contacted by email by May 13, 2023.
