Overview

Agar Leukocyte Conditioned Medium is a source of colony-stimulating factors for assays of hematopoietic progenitor cells from light density fractions of human bone marrow and peripheral blood.

It stimulates the growth of erythroid progenitors (BFU-E and CFU-E), granulocyte-macrophage progenitors (CFU-GM, CFU-G and CFU-M) and multi-potential granulocyte, erythroid, macrophage, megakaryocyte progenitors (CFU-GEMM) when added to methylcellulose at a final concentration of 10% with the addition of erythropoietin.

Agar Leukocyte Conditioned Medium is prepared using normal human peripheral blood leukocytes in an agar-containing medium.
