Mini-Review on Mesenchymal Cells

MesenCult®-XF Medium is a standardized serum-free, xeno-free medium for human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Rigorously quality-controlled, MesenCult®-XF helps MSC researchers standardize their culture system and minimize variability, leading to increased reproducibility between experiments.

MesenCult®-XF Medium is optimized for:
• MSC expansion from primary human bone marrow
• long-term culture of MSCs (>8 passages)
• enumeration of CFU-F from primary human bone marrow and culture-expanded MSCs

 MesenCult®-XF Culture Kit* Kit 05429
 MesenCult®-XF Medium 500 mL 05420
 MesenCult®-XF Attachment Substrate 1 mL 05425
 MesenCult® Dissociation Kit§ 2 x 250 mL 05426
* The MesenCult®-XF Culture Kit* is comprised of MesenCult®-XF Medium (Catalog #05420) and 5 MesenCult®-XF Attachment Substrates (5X Catalog #05425).
§ The MesenCult® Dissociation Kit contains animal derived components.

Please be advised that we are changing the name of MesenCult®-ACF to MesenCult®-XF.
The product formulation and performance has NOT changed. The change from "animal component-free" to "xeno-free" (XF) nomenclature is to highlight the following feature: xeno-free products are considered “humanized”. They may contain ingredients derived from human sources and any recombinant materials must correspond to human genetic sequences.

FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY

MesenCult®-XF supports long-term growth of MSCs (Figure 1) and cells maintain multi-lineage potential (Figure 2). In addition, MSCs cultured in MesenCult®-XF expand faster (Figure 1) and show a significant reduction in hematopoietic cell contamination at early passages compared to serum-based media (Figure 3). The culture-expanded cell population expresses CD90 (Thy-1), CD105 (SH2) and CD73 (SH3/SH4), but lacks expression of CD34 and CD45 (Figure 4).

MesenCult®-XF Medium must be used in conjunction with the MesenCult®-XF Attachment Substrate and the MesenCult® Dissociation Kit; components are prescreened to ensure optimal cell attachment when MSCs are cultured with MesenCult®-XF Medium.
