Video - EasySep®: Powerful Immunomagnetic Isolation of Virtually Any Cell Type
What is EasySep®? EasySep® is a powerful immunomagnetic cell selection procedure that uses specific antibodies and tiny FACS-compatible magnetic nanoparticles in a column-free magnetic system. Cells are targeted for selection or depletion using monoclonal antibodies directed against specific cell surface antigens. These labeled cells are then crosslinked to EasySep® magnetic nanoparticles in a standard FACS tube. The tube is then placed directly in the specially designed EasySep® magnet. This handheld magnet is gently inverted to remove the cells that are not bound to the magnetic nanoparticles. The unique EasySep® magnet generates a high gradient magnetic field in the interior cavity that is strong enough to separate cells labeled with EasySep® nanoparticles without the additional magnetic field gradients provided by a column matrix. Unlike larger microparticles used with other column-free systems, the EasySep® nanoparticles do not interfere with subsequent FACS analysis and do not need to be removed. For Positive Cell Selection: Cells of interest remain in the tube after pouring off the cells that are not bound to the magnetic nanoparticles. To obtain a highly pure population, these cells are rinsed twice or more, then easily collected by removing the tube from the magnet. For products for positive selection, see below.
For Negative Enrichment: Cells of interest are poured into a new tube when the magnet is inverted, as they are not bound to the magnetic nanoparticles. For products for negative enrichment, see below. Easily Automated with RoboSep: EasySep® procedures can be performed manually by one of our EasySep® magnets, or by using the RoboSep® the automated cell separator.
