A Fast and Simple Hematopoietic Colony-Forming Cell Assay for Cord Blood Banks

This video discusses the colony-forming cell (CFC) or colony-forming unit (CFU) assays, the most commonly used assays to measure the frequency and proliferative ability of hematopoietic cells in cell preparations used for transplantation. In unrelated umbilical cord blood (CB) transplantation, total CFC numbers after thawing of CB units has been demonstrated to correlate more strongly with recovery and survival than other parameters, such as CFC numbers before cryopreservation, TNC counts and CD34+ cell numbers. To measure the total CFC content of a cord blood sample, it is not necessary to distinguish colony types, and therefore it is not necessary to culture the cells for 14 -16 days until colonies have fully matured. In this webinar, we will discuss MethoCult® Express. This new MethoCult® medium is formulated for faster CFC assays for hematopoietic progenitors in CB, which allows total colonies to be counted as early as after 7 days, instead of the 14 - 16 days of conventional CFC assays. A Guide to Passaging Human Pluripotent Stem Cells Using mTeSR™1

mTeSR™1 is a defined medium designed for the maintenance of hESCs and hiPSCs without the use of feeders. This video describes the morphology of cells at different stages during culture and also describes the method to passage cells cultured in mTeSR™1. Watch other videos here.

A Step Closer to Clinically-Compatible Culture of hESCs and hiPSCs with TeSR™2

TeSR™2 , is the latest solution from STEMCELL Technologies for the culture of human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells (hESCs and hiPSCs) without the use of feeders. TeSRTM2 combines the advantages of a feeder-independent culture system with the added value of being free of non-human proteins. This video describes the robust validation of TeSR™2 using multiple cells lines over multiple passages and highlights some practical aspects of culturing with TeSRTM2. Watch other videos here.

Affordable, Defined hPSC Culture? StemAdhere™ “Sticks it” to Other Matrices

StemAdhere™ Defined Matrix for hPSC, developed and manufactured by Primorigen Biosciences®, is a defined, humanized matrix that supports the long-term culture of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). It is an affordable alternative to the commonly used Matrigel™ and may be used in combination with mTeSR™1 or TeSR™2 media for a completely defined, feeder-independent system. Cells easily and conveniently transition from Matrigel™ to StemAdhere™ Defined Matrix for hPSC and are maintained and passaged, thereafter, using a convenient and simple, enzyme-free protocol. Animal Component-Free hPSC Differentiation to Multiple Lineages

This webinar introduces STEMdiff™ APEL™ Medium, a defined, serum-free and animal component-free medium specifically developed to support human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) differentiation. It was first described for the induction of hemato-endothelial cells, but it has also been proven to be an effective basal medium for hPSC differentiation to other lineages. Learn more about how this medium has been used for hPSC differentiation to cardiomyocyte, hematopoietic, and definitive endoderm, as well as how STEMdiff™ APEL™ Medium, with the right combination of growth factors, may be used for differentiation to other cell lineages either as embryoid bodies (EBs) or in adherent cell-based systems.
