This two-day course is focused on the techniques required to efficiently and effectively differentiate human embryonic stem (ES) cells and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells to neural progenitors using a defined, feeder- and enzyme-free culture system. The entire workflow from maintaining ES and iPS cells using a defined, feeder-independent culture system to obtaining pure neural progenitor cells will be covered. Participants will gain all of the skills required to begin adopting pluripotent stem cell models for neuroscience research.  Over half of the course will be devoted to hands-on laboratory techniques led by expert STEMCELL Technologies trainers with the main focus on the differentiation, identification and selection of neural progenitors.

• Identification and selection of neural rosettes using STEMdiff™ Neural Rosette Selection Reagent
• Expansion of neural progenitor cells using STEMdiff™ Neural Progenitor Expansion Medium
