Traditional methods of selecting and cloning hybridomas and transfected cells are performed in liquid culture and require several limiting dilutions and screening steps. ClonaCell® methylcellulose-based semi-solid media can combine selection and cloning in one easy step. Using ClonaCell®, stable cell lines can be generated in as little as 14 days.

ClonaCell®-HY

Hybridoma Production
ClonaCell®-HY products are specifically optimized for the selection and growth of mouse hybridomas to generate mouse monoclonal antibodies. This method combines the hybridoma selection with HAT and cloning in one step. Single cell-derived hybridomas stay together in the semi-solid medium as they grow to form monoclonal colonies. The hybridomas can be easily picked and screened and then expanded to produce the desired antibody.

ClonaCell®-HY IS:
  • ECONOMICAL. Fewer materials are required, such as expensive ELISA reagents for multiple screenings.
  • TIME-SAVING. Limiting dilutions are not required which saves up to 26 days over traditional methods.
  • USEFUL TO SCREEN RARE HYBRIDOMAS. Undesired fast-growing hybridomas do not over-take the culture allowing clones to be screened independently.

ClonaCell®-TCS

Hybridoma Selection
ClonaCell® -TCS products allow the simultaneous selection and cloning of non-adherent transfected cells in one easy step. Upon addition of the appropriate selective antibiotic, the ClonaCell®-TCS semi-solid medium allows the progeny of drug-resistant transfectants to stay together as they divide. After one to two weeks of growth under selective conditions, the resistant cells form discrete clonal colonies that are visible to the naked eye and easily harvested.

ClonaCell® -TCS IS:
  • RAPID. Colonies are obtained in just 14 days.
  • EFFECTIVE. More transfectants can be screened as the potential for clonal dominance observed in liquid culture is eliminated.
  • ECONOMICAL. Fewer technician hours and materials are required.

ClonaCell® EasyPick

EasyPic
ClonaCell® EasyPick is a fully automated platform for cell line generation that merges the rapid selection and cloning of cells using ClonaCell® media with Hamilton’s 30 years of experience in robotics to meet the three most important aspects of developing cell lines for biologics production: speed, throughput, and quality.

  • SPEED. Generate stable cell lines in as little as 14 days by combining selection and cloning using ClonaCell® media.
