TRA-1-81 is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that reacts with TRA-1-81 antigen that is expressed upon the surface of human embryonal carcinoma cells (ECs), human embryonic germ cells (EGCs) and human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells (hESCs and hiPSCs). No immunoreactivity is seen with mouse ECs, EGCs or mESCs or miPSCs. Both the TRA-1-60 and TRA-1-81 monoclonal antibodies recognize antigens that are associated with a pericellular matrix proteoglycan.
