Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is an intermediate filament protein strongly expressed by astrocytes. This antibody is useful for the detection of GFAP in astrocytes, certain other astroglia in the central nervous system, satellite cells in peripheral ganglia and non-myelinating Schwann cells in peripheral nerves. This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects GFAP from human, rat, mouse, cat and potentially other species (not tested).
