Human Plasma, Frozen

Umbilical cord blood (CB) from a full-term delivery is collected into a 300mL standard blood bag containing acid-citrate-dextrose (ACD) anticoagulant (60 mL/bag). Samples are processed within 24 hours of collection. Light density separation of whole cord blood is performed by doing a 1:2 dilution in PBS and centrifugation of cord blood over Ficoll-Paque™. Plasma is obtained from the top layer after centrifugation.
