CD49b is the α2 integrin subunit that associates with the integrin β1 subunit, CD29. Anti-CD49b/Pan NK cells clone DX5 reacts with most NK cells, a subset of T-lymphocytes and platelets. Culture of CD49b+ NK cells with IL-2 results in loss of CD49b expression on a fraction of the cells and loss of cytotoxic activity.
