CD45RA is an isoform of CD45 family that includes CD45RO, CD45RB and CD45RC. It is expressed on most thymocytes, naive T cells, B lymphocytes and NK cells. Upon activation by mitogens or antigens naïve T cells first acquire CD45RO, and then lose CD45RA. Within the hematopoietic system CD45RA is expressed on myelomonocytic and lymphoid progenitors, but not on primitive multipotent progenitors and on erythroid progenitors, which express CD45RO.
