  • Vial label for Anti-CD44 (Clone IM7) 50 µg
Vial label for Anti-CD44 (Clone IM7) 50 µg
CD44 is a 80-95 kDa type-1 integral transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell/cell and cell/matrix interactions that regulate cell adhesion, migration, invasion and survival. It is expressed by a wide variety of cells, including leukocytes, epithelial, endothelial and mesenchymal cells. CD44 exerts influence through its interaction with a variety of ligands including hyaluronic acid, fibronectin, collagens, growth factors, cytokines, chemokines and metalloproteinases. The CD44 gene contains at least 21 exons, of which at least 9 of can be variably spliced and glycosylated to produce several dozen CD44 variant isoforms. This marker was demonstrated to label a population of primitive breast tumor precursor cells.
