Currently, we have an opening for a Research Associate (Research and Development) in our Vancouver office.

The Research Associate will be responsible for testing new and existing product and product components. This position is responsible for thorough product documentation, data analysis and reporting, troubleshooting experiments and literature reviews. The successful incumbent will also become an in-house expert in lab techniques for training new employees and will evaluate new technologies and instrumentation. 

Duties:

  • Design experiments with input from supervisor
  • Manage the project budget and maintains written records of laboratory procedures, experimental results and all lab work according to company standards
  • Perform data analysis and calculations independently
  • Troubleshoot experiments, identify abnormal or unexpected trends in data
  • Present results of experiments and future plans at departmental and team meetings
  • Perform literature reviews, discuss relevance to product design with supervisor
  • Assist with competitor analyses, market analyses and evaluation of new technologies
  • Author and provide input on scientific abstracts, technical product and quality documents
  • Provide training on laboratory/product protocols to lab and sales staff 
  • Provide technical support (product use, protocols) for QC and Manufacturing
  • Participate in the development and validation of improved cell separation products for hematopoietic cell isolation.
  • Contribute to medium development  for culture, expansion and assay of hematopoietic cells
  • Provide assistance on related projects for non-hematopoietic stem cells and progenitors as required

 Qualifications:

  • MSc or BSc with an equivalent combination of scientific knowledge and minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of a broad range of lab techniques, specifically mammalian cell culture and flow cytometry
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently as well as in a team
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient at data/scientific presentations and training sessions
  • Experience in authoring product documentation, performing literature reviews and market analyses
